My Commercial Reflection

Image
In this project, there were many forms of technology I used and learned how to use. I learned how to initially operate my computer and install the editing software I used to edit, Adobe After Effects. I have used this software for many years, however becoming familiar with editing things in real life is what i was unfamiliar with. It took me a couple of days to learn techniques and styles I could have implemented in my commercial. Learning these effects and techniques was crucial to my project as it was the foundation for any ideas I had and was the determining factor of whether it came out good or not. I also learned how to share videos directly from a phone to a computer, which took me having to learn how to use different apps and video players to allow me to convert my phones pictures to my computer. The technology I learned to use in this project will completely help me in further projects, as they are bases for me to build off of in future situations. I also learned how to use blo

Finalizations and subtle tweaks

In this project, I've learned how to implement many creative and cool touches to my editing and sound design. For the editing in this project, i decided to implement a couple artifacts. For the introduction in my commercial, there's a beat that introduces the actual rhythm and other instruments of the song. I decided that it would be a good idea to make the text and intro appear with those beats at the start, for a professional feel and a nice aspect. I also color graded my text to have a warmer feel to it, as I feel it fits to the songs atmosphere. After the intro, the initial image of me as a baby i had black and white until the upbeat progression of the song comes in. I then increased the scale on an exponential ramp, and slowly increased it until the image had went away. This constant motion in the frame adds a very advanced and subtle detailing to the feeling of the project. Movement always makes the compositing of a video or project in this instance feel smoother, especi

Editing and Sound Design

I've now started to begin compiling and forming my videos and pictures for my commercial. I wanted the video to be on beat and the pictures to appear nicely and smoothly while also fitting the color scheme the music portrays. In my opinion, the song "Hell n Back" by Bakar has an upbeat and warm feeling to it. This is what I will be referencing to as I color grade and shade the pictures and videos. I have chose to use the application Adobe After Effects, because I have immense knowledge on application and can use my other skills to my advantage here. I've been working with after effects for 3 years now on its own, and I know how to do essentially every technique there is. In this project I want to show what I am capable of, and more importantly try my hardest for this commercial to be seen as nicely done. The song has a decently fast paced beat to it. Since it does, it caused me to ultimately decide to put the introductory text on the beats of the song to compliment t

Understanding the vision was my starting point. Before diving into the audio-editing process, I knew it was crucial to have a clear vision of what I wanted to convey through my commercial. In my case, I aimed to showcase my personality and achievements. The first step was selecting the right music track. I opted for a catchy, upbeat tune that mirrored my lively and positive personality. Next, I meticulously reviewed the footage and images used in my commercial. Understanding the rhythm and pace of the visuals was essential to sync them seamlessly with the music .Creating a musical map was crucial. I marked significant moments in the video where music transitions, changes in tempo, or specific beats would enhance the visual impact. This "musical map" acted as my guide. To ensure perfect synchronization, I adjusted the duration of my video clips to match the music's tempo. This step was vital in creating a harmonious marriage of sound and visuals. For dramatic effect, I ali

In this assignment, i will be going over how i edited, compiled, tweaked the music, and reviewed my producing of my commercial. Editing the visuals: initially, I had to find a way to put all of the pieces together, so I used a video editor known as Premiere Pro. This is the phase where I turn the pictures into more and transform them into the actual commercial. To start with, I placed all the photos into my project and selected them and assigned them in order of chronology. With the photos, I can adjust the colors, contrast, and lighting to represent the mood the song brings in. Cropping the photos and framing them also adds another aspect to the feeling they may give off when watching the commercial. As well for the videos, I have to keep my eye out for specific tweaks and adjustments i should make. I can trim the videos, make jump cuts, and rearrange them to make it flow nicely. with everything together it adds a nice feel and incorporates all the pieces together nicely. Editing th

Here I will explain the journey I had while trying to find photos, videos and the song used in my commercial.  Picking out the pictures: In the exciting process of creating this commercial, I had to ask my parents to help me find photos. We gathered at my dads computer and explored the albums we had over the past years. It felt very nostalgic going back in time and seeing all the memories we've made. There were even times looking at photos we couldn't help but laugh. Collaborating with my parents during this project not only met the requirements for it, but also bonded my family and made for a fun activity. Choosing the right videos: Videos are a crucial aspect for us to look back on our life, especially to fit the narrative this projects wants us to create. I went through numerous archives of my videos, my parents videos, and even uncles videos to find fun or important features of my life. Going through these video required me to pay close attention and detail to what was hap
