Finalizations and subtle tweaks

In this project, I've learned how to implement many creative and cool touches to my editing and sound design. For the editing in this project, i decided to implement a couple artifacts. For the introduction in my commercial, there's a beat that introduces the actual rhythm and other instruments of the song. I decided that it would be a good idea to make the text and intro appear with those beats at the start, for a professional feel and a nice aspect. I also color graded my text to have a warmer feel to it, as I feel it fits to the songs atmosphere. After the intro, the initial image of me as a baby i had black and white until the upbeat progression of the song comes in. I then increased the scale on an exponential ramp, and slowly increased it until the image had went away. This constant motion in the frame adds a very advanced and subtle detailing to the feeling of the project. Movement always makes the compositing of a video or project in this instance feel smoother, especially when needing to do a transition. As this gradually fades out of the black and white adjustment layer I added, the song comes all together and picks up pace. Overlays are also a key component towards editing. In this project, I decided it would be a good idea to add an old film overlay on the top of the videos, to add a more nostalgic sense to the image I was trying to portray. I also labeled with text in every video what was happening or where I was, as it has significant value because I was trying to show me growing up and my life inside the 30 second project. I decided to also add my video in the project as the final material of me, as i felt like a video in the middle of the pictures seems too random. I really do like how this effect i was going for went on my video. In my opinion it gives off a professional feel towards the introduction and outro. There were so many aspects that allowed me to compile this entire project together. My parents helped greatly as they provided me with most of my pictures and videos i selected to go into the project. I used Adobe After Effects for this project, and while i have a vast amount of knowledge in the editing scene I've never edited anything from real life before. It seems more complex, however i can tell there's so much more creativity to discover and ideas to implement. I cant wait to see what i do next time on a project like this. I also appreciate my teachers for allowing us students to do a project like this. Thank you for hearing the finalizations of my projects, and i cant wait to see what i produce next time!
