Production Blog: issues and rescheduling

Image
Hey everyone, it's me, Blake again, and this is another production blog of mine. Since the last one, there haven't been many changes; however, there are things I ran across. The initial day I was supposed to film was rainy, so I wasn't able to record the shots I wanted outdoors at all. This problem shouldn't be too big of a deal, just means editing will be delayed and so on. Another issue I ran into was the video being out of focus in many of the shots. I think the best option in this situation is to schedule another time for me to redo all the shots I feel are necessary. I do, however, believe that my methods of filming will meet the desired results in the future for my editing. The shots that I thought should be included in my music video I felt were perfect. I think that my decision on which recordings I choose to put in or not is very high expecting, resulting in only the best in my mind to become the result. The stability and overall quality of the clips I recorded

Production Blog: behind the scenes

Hi its me Blake again, and in this blog I will be explaining the setting up process and other things I want to acknowledge before I start filming and producing my music video project. For this project, I have many creative ideas in mind and definitely want to be able to produce them. That's partially why I chose the song Stronger, by Kanye West. This song completely encompasses the upbeat and energetic feeling I was going for. I chose this genre and style of music because I feel its best to match with the gym setting and environment I will be trying to create. The song has many prominent beats, and the rhythm being steady and noticeable helps with my creative ideas as well. I have many concepts I'd love to integrate into this project. For instance, on the punch beats of the song I want multiple jump cuts in sections to match the pace and give a faster feeling to the music video itself. Most of these ideas i want to incorporate into my music video will however only be able to b

Production Blog: establishing a plan

Hey, its me Blake again, and this is my first production blog for my music video. In this blog I will be explaining my planning process for my filming in the following weeks. Not just the planning, but also what I'm going to be using in my filming and editing processes in the future. To start with, the first scene of my music video will be in my home, and it will be me waking up and getting ready for the gym. For this, I need to prepare the desired angles I want in the scene and the environment I'm trying to go for. I want the lighting to be decently bright to fit the song choice. I also want the overall scenery to be neat and clean, so I will have to make sure everything around me and that can be viewed in the film is nicely put. After the initial scene, I will be arriving to the gym. In this scene, I want to replicate the effect of me having to walk to the gym, so I'll have a perspective of me walking on the street to it. In reality, the gym that I will be using is the on

Planning Blog For My Music Video

Props:   - The props ill be using in my music video will be the machines in the gym setting, actual weights themselves, and energy drinks or even water bottles. Costumes: - The costumes would be mainly gym wear; tank tops, and other athletic clothing to fit into the gym environment. Locations:  - Filming will mostly be in the gym setting, however there will be scenes where I am in bed and at my house arriving to the gym. Schedule: - I will start recording this weekend and hopefully finish the following week. After the filming the editing process will take a large portion of my time on this project as i want it to become my vision. If there are any problems, re-filming would happen after i initiate the editing process. Backup Plan: - In case I do not complete filming or want to change my view on this project entirely, There are other gyms and locations that are available for me to film in. I'm sure my editing will be done in After Effects by Adobe as well. If I do change my complete

In my music video project, I've decided to work with two of my friends in the class with me. Jake and Gabe. They have been good friends of me both for a while, and I believe we will work together nicely. I'm excited to see how this project pans out, and believe that the final showing of our collaboration will be a pleasant outcome. It is true that I could have chose to work on this project alone. However, I believe that working with Gabe and Jake will be beneficial as they can assist with the props and filming aspects as I can do the majority of the editing. They both have decent knowledge on filmmaking and video recording. I expect their filming to be great and easily editable to compose a profound workpiece. I also believe that the working routine we have in mind will work out perfectly, as I have the most knowledge to editing and they have more pertaining to actual filming. Composing our skills together should create a nice flow between all of us. If we all can do our parts

My Introduction, Again!

My name is Blake Dashnaw, and I live in an apartment with my father and dog. My father initially introduced me to technology pretty early; when I was eight I got my first I pad. Soon enough the time came to where my father taught me how to build computers and one of my own, and that allowed me to perceive the depths of the video filming and editing world. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I was given at an early age, as they allowed me to learn and understand what I know today. I play video games often with friends and also love watching movies. I also have a dog, named Dash. He's very smart and usually behaves really well. I've taken care of him since the age of 11, and have been his primary caretaker ever since. He is also an Australian Shepherd, which means he always needs a lot of exercise. Taking care of him has been a very fundamental responsibility for me, as it allows me to grasp the aspect of having to take care of something every single day. I appreciate bot
