My Group Blog

 In my music video project, I've decided to work with two of my friends in the class with me. Jake and Gabe. They have been good friends of me both for a while, and I believe we will work together nicely. I'm excited to see how this project pans out, and believe that the final showing of our collaboration will be a pleasant outcome. It is true that I could have chose to work on this project alone. However, I believe that working with Gabe and Jake will be beneficial as they can assist with the props and filming aspects as I can do the majority of the editing. They both have decent knowledge on filmmaking and video recording. I expect their filming to be great and easily editable to compose a profound workpiece. I also believe that the working routine we have in mind will work out perfectly, as I have the most knowledge to editing and they have more pertaining to actual filming. Composing our skills together should create a nice flow between all of us. If we all can do our parts and share our inputs equally our desired outcome should be reachable. For the song choice, I chose a piece that I believe compels a nice and unique coalescence. Stan, by Eminem and Dido. This song starts off very slow paced, and introduces an upbeat flow later on in the track. I think this can fit an idea we could plan in the future in many different ways. As it provides a very understanding timeline of how we'd draw out our music video. Me and my group members do think this song will fit our ideas completely. I also believe that the audience will be able to see a definite story shown and be able to understand the aspects we create. The overall song is a truly great piece, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it for this specific project. The group and music that I chose is exactly how I want it to go so far, and I cant wait to see how well we do in our following blogs.

 As the editing guru of our group, it was up to me to piece together all the footage we captured into a cinematic masterpiece. Considering my experience as the editor for our previous project, everyone agreed that I was the right person for the job. My name is Blake Dashnaw, and I live in an apartment with my father and dog. My father initially introduced me to technology pretty early; when I was eight I got my first I pad. Soon enough the time came to where my father taught me how to build computers and one of my own, and that allowed me to perceive the depths of the video filming and editing world. I'm very grateful for the opportunities I was given at an early age, as they allowed me to learn and understand what I know today. I play video games often with friends and also love watching movies. I also have a dog, named Dash. He's very smart and usually behaves really well. I've taken care of him since the age of 11, and have been his primary caretaker ever since. He is also an Australian Shepherd, which means he always needs a lot of exercise. Production Blog: Compiling Our Scenes

Today marked the climax of our editing odyssey! Before putting the finishing touches on our project, we decided to capture some extra scenes just as a safety net. It was a thrilling opportunity to venture beyond our usual filming spots and add some fresh elements to our story. Opting for my mom's spacious van for the car scenes turned out to be a brilliant move. Its generous space accommodated all our equipment and crew with ease. Filming inside the van was an absolute riot! We couldn't resist goofing around and having a blast while getting those last shots. After wrapping up our filming session, we treated ourselves to a leisurely lunch break to refuel before diving back into our editing tasks. The afternoon flew by as we polished off the remaining shots in just an hour. With some daylight left, we indulged in some relaxing fishing, taking advantage of the serene waters as the perfect backdrop for additional footage.
