Research and planning blog

Here I will explain the journey I had while trying to find photos, videos and the song used in my commercial.

Picking out the pictures:

In the exciting process of creating this commercial, I had to ask my parents to help me find photos. We gathered at my dads computer and explored the albums we had over the past years. It felt very nostalgic going back in time and seeing all the memories we've made. There were even times looking at photos we couldn't help but laugh. Collaborating with my parents during this project not only met the requirements for it, but also bonded my family and made for a fun activity.

Choosing the right videos:

Videos are a crucial aspect for us to look back on our life, especially to fit the narrative this projects wants us to create. I went through numerous archives of my videos, my parents videos, and even uncles videos to find fun or important features of my life. Going through these video required me to pay close attention and detail to what was happening in them, and not only reminded me of the things themselves, but also made me happy looking back on them. Or that would be true if I didn't have to see when i broke my ankle... but overall was really a fun thing to do. Reviewing the visual memories made me really appreciate the things around me and the experiences who made me who I am.

Choosing the right song:

Now this task was probably the hardest one for me. Not because I couldn't find a good song for it, but because there were so many options for me to pick from. I have tens of playlists with hundreds of songs each that all resonate with me in different ways, so picking just one that I felt fit was difficult. While scrolling through for a while however, I finally found a song I felt was just right. "Hell and Back" by Bakar, a very nice song in my opinion. The simplistic style mixed with the emotion he sets in the verses fit together so perfectly. When I listen to this song, it makes me feel like I'm looking back at my life with a smile on my face. I knew once I stumbled upon this song it had to be the one to incorporate into this project.

With everything in place, the photos, videos, and soundtrack, I feel like my project is already on the way to becoming a masterpiece in showing my life. My family helping me only made this portion more fun, and I'm grateful for all they do for me. This research and planning phase helped me more than just with picking out the photos, videos, and music, as well as creating a journey of discovering myself. I'm very excited to see how this project turns out, and am happy for how this part went.
